Ally Phillips, 20 years old

1/3/2002 - 9/11/2022

"Ally Phillips was born on January 3, 2002 and passed away peacefully on September 11, 2022 in her mommy’s arms. She was a rescue from Animal Rescue League of Iowa. We found her at the adoption center at PetsMart in Ankeny
in August 2003. She was a long-haired kitty with no history available on her. They called her Winnie; we gave her the name of Ally. We had decided to adopt a cat because we had another cat and we thought he needed a playmate.
After bringing Ally home, we were required to impose a 10-day kitty separation because of possible kitty cold exposure to our cat, Chester. Then we introduced Chester to Ally. Ally was so excited to meet him and quickly introduced
herself with a sweet meow. Chester wanted nothing to do with her and hissed at her from afar. He continued this for about a week. Then one evening with a house plant between them, they started to play and soon became friends.
Ally loved to bat around small plastic balls in the shower. She also loved catnip, Doritos, butterscotch chips, and
sleeping in her wicker basket. When she wasn’t napping in her basket, she could be found napping belly up on the floor. She loved being brushed and watching mom use the fly swatter was a fun activity she also enjoyed.
At times, she would sit on mom’s lap for a short time. During that time, she would give the sweetest kisses on mom’s hand along with chew on the pen she was trying to write with.
Ally didn’t like to meet new people. As she became older, she slept behind the couch, (all decked out with her comfy
pillow) and in the last year or so of her life, she loved sleeping in a walk-in closet built under stairs. This became Ally’s 'room'. She felt safe and secure in her newfound domain.
Ally is survived by her dad and mom and brother Simon. She was proceeded in death by three other siblings, Ebony and Chester & Kasey last year along with Abby, Sam, Sydney and LC in the years prior."
