Chester Phillips

5/7/2002 - 10/31/2021

"Chester was born on May 7, 2002 and passed away on October 31, 2021. We brought Chester into our family at four weeks old. He and his two sisters were orphaned and found in a culvert after his mother was killed on the road. He was such a patient and soft-spoken guy compared to his sisters. He would sit and wait patiently for his turn during feeding time. He became fast friends with his new dog sister Sydney until he was older and bigger and then Sydney didn’t think that was fun anymore.
Over the years he developed a nickname of 'Chesturd' because of the trouble he got himself into. One night he paid our fish 'Furple' a visit and spilled the fish water all over daddy’s laptop and ruined it. He loved to play in the water bowl and leave a mess on the floor, tear off pieces of the houseplants and even push them off the desk and watch them fall to the floor.

Some of his favorite things included playing with rubber bands along with chewing them up, helping us tie the ribbon on gifts, playing with the bows that his sister would get in her hair after going to the groomer and going outside in the backyard and enjoying a nice day.
Chester was not a picky eater and he loved citrus fruit! If you peeled an orange, he would always come in the kitchen for a handout.
Chester was also a big cat – not fat but long, tall and muscular!
He always purred when you came in the room or approached him, even on the day he passed when he didn’t feel well, he still would purr when you helped care for him. Another thing he always did when you went to pet him or pick him up was to extend his right foot and stretch, it was always a given and became such a trait of his.
Later, we adopted another kitty that looked like Chester, only smaller, and a girl. Chester and his sister, LC (originally an acronym for 'Little Chet'), were buddies and were often found together napping. In his later years, he loved to nap on the back of the couch.
Chester leaves behind his Daddy and Mommy and sisters Kasey and Ally and brother Simon. He was preceded in death by sisters Abby, Sydney, LC and Ebony and brother Sam."
