Lucille Lillian Louise (Lucy)
2008 - 2025
Lucille Lillian Louise Amicone (Lucy) departed this life to cross the Rainbow Bridge on August 4, 2025 while being held by her devoted Mama. Lucy was born on January 8, 2008 and lived her first year in neglect until her “Mama” and “Ranny” rescued her from deplorable conditions. Emaciated, sickly, and covered in fleas – Lucy was whisked away to her forever home where nothing but tender loving care would ever be shown to her again. A true statement to the Pekingese breed through and through, sweet and sassy Lucy spent her remaining years on this earth being catered to, doted on, petted, kissed, and loved. A little girl of many names, she was also affectionately known as: Rucy, Rucyfur, Little Bit, Pumpkin, Sugar Pie, Angel Cake, Peanut, Peach, Flower, Peapod, Sweetpea, Pokey, and Bean. Lucy’s hobbies included stealing socks, watching TV, and following her Mama around the house. Her favorite toys were a little stuffed chick - her beloved “Peep”, and her Snoopy. Her favorite times of the day were bedtime – where she received lots of belly and ear rubs and kisses, and suppertime - where she was fed home-cooked meals daily. When it came to special treats, Lucy loved Italian meatballs, vanilla ice cream, and cheese. Oftentimes her Mama would sing her favorite songs to her: “Dream A Little Dream” by Dean Martin, “Happy Together” by The Turtles, and “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” by Bing Crosby. Lucy was met at the Rainbow Bridge by her Uncle Eddie (Ed Amicone) and her Uncle Artie (Artie Smith) - who no doubt both scooped her up for kisses; and her beloved Ranny (Maria Amicone) who has been patiently waiting for her in Heaven since October 18, 2020. To cherish her memory, she leaves her Mama (Michelle Amicone), special friends and caretakers “Auntie Chrissy” (Chrissy Duvall), “Auntie Tammie” (Tammie Rodriguez), and “Auntie Nevaeh” (Nevaeh Bare). Her Groomers – MaryAnn Peters and Michelle Burke-English; her lifelong Veterinarian and Vet Tech – Dr. Lisa Apicella and Wendy; her best friend - Tharon Miller; and a host of family, friends, and admirers. Tributes in Lucy’s memory can be made to the kind souls at Liz E’s Pekingese Rescue and Sanctuary in Bull Shoals, AR. “If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.” Farewell for now, my most precious darling girl. I’ll meet you over the rainbow. Mama loves you, forever and ever.
