Trae
2012 - 2025
Trae, Trae Bear, Trajan, or Trae-Trae—no matter what you were called, you always listened. You were a joyful, loving pup who greeted each day with a smile and enthusiasm, no matter what it brought. You were never a cuddly pup—no hugs, too many pets, long lap sits, and nail trims were torture, as were vet exams—but you always lay next to me, whether in bed or on the couch. You always listened to your better angel, avoiding toy destruction, digging holes in the yard, and opportunities for food theft. When out and about and feeling anxious about your surroundings, you’d leap into my arms and car rides, barking at every dog you saw out the window. Now your bowl is cleaned and put away, along with your treat toys. Your leash and harness hang on the hook, never to be used again. Your nails clicking on the floor or your barking in the yard at nothing are memories now. The sudden, unexpected, and swift loss of your vibrant personality, which crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Friday morning, October 10th, leaves a profound void in my life and in that of your fellow furry family members. For all the ups and downs in life, you were a blessing, and you’ll forever be in my heart. Run free, little man, with love.
