It is with broken hearts and deep gratitude for her life that we announce the passing of Zina Michelle, who crossed the rainbow bridge on June 28, 2025 at VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group) in Naperville, IL, surrounded by her loving family and the compassionate medical team at VEG.

Zina was more than a pet — she was a force. A protector. A best friend. A comfort. A queen.

Born in 2014, Zina spent 11 beautiful years spreading love, loyalty, and laughter. She ruled her pack with grace and grit, serving as the fearless and fabulous matriarch to her dog siblings: Ghost (Joliet, IL), Mr. Buddy “Piglet” (Minooka, IL), and Denim Reed (Kankakee, IL).

Zina leaves behind a devoted father who was her world, loving uncles and aunts, godparents, doting grandparents, and a host of cousins who adored her more than words can express.

She will be remembered for her abusive tail wags, bone-crushing hugs, sloppy kisses, and her undeniable ability to bully anyone who dared eat chicken without sharing. Her presence filled every room, her love filled every heart, and her absence is already louder than words.

Zina Michelle was — and always will be — one of one. A gentle soul with a big personality. Her legacy lives on in the paw prints she left on every soul lucky enough to know her.
